Half-Circle Mosaic Door Mat

A plain mat shows every mark. This one uses a mottled cobblestone print that breaks up tracked-in grit visually, so the dirt it is actually catching does not read as staining the way it would on a flat, solid colour. That makes it a better choice for a front door that faces a gravel path or a garden than any single-tone mat of the same quality would be.

Underneath the print is a polyester pile that is soft enough to be pleasant under bare feet indoors while standing up to the traffic of a covered porch outdoors. A non-slip backing grips smooth tile and sealed concrete, holding the mat in position underfoot rather than letting it wander toward the door over a week of use.

The half-circle profile tucks neatly against a door frame, with no corners left sticking out for a swinging door to catch and drag. Two sizes are available. Care is a shake, a vacuum or a hand wash, with nothing special required to keep the print sharp. Two limits worth knowing: hand wash only, as a machine cycle will distort the shape and lift the backing, and keep it under cover rather than in direct rain.
