Super Absorbent Bath Mat

Terry cloth mats hold water. This one takes it off your feet on contact and then releases it, so the surface is dry again in a short time rather than staying damp on the floor for the rest of the day. In a bathroom used by several people in the morning, that is the difference between the last person stepping onto something fresh and stepping onto a cold, wet cloth.

The profile is roughly three millimetres, thin enough that a bathroom door swings over it without catching, which quietly solves the most common complaint about thicker mats. It also rolls up flat for storage in a linen closet or a suitcase and does not hold a crease when unrolled. Rubber backing grips wet tile, so it stays put when you step off the edge of the shower onto an already-slick floor.

Five patterns are offered across three sizes, from Kanoko linen through to Arc Horizon. Resetting it needs no washing machine cycle at all: rinse it and let it air dry. Two things to be aware of before ordering: it is not machine washable, and the rubber backing needs a smooth floor to grip, so on textured or pebbled tile it can still slide.
