This one uses a sweeping quartz movement rather than the standard step mechanism, which means the second hand glides continuously instead of clicking once a second. In a bedroom or a study where the room is otherwise still, that single design decision is the entire reason to choose it.

The frame is real timber with a glass front, not printed woodgrain on plastic, so the edge grain reads as wood up close as well as from across the room. The dial is matte white with high-contrast numerals, a combination that stays readable from a distance and cuts the glare that overhead lighting throws across a glossy face. Two sizes are offered: ten inches for a hallway or desk wall, twelve for a living room or kitchen feature wall.

Brown reads warmer against white walls and pairs naturally with oak or walnut furniture, while creme sits back more quietly in a neutral or painted room. It runs on a single AA battery for roughly a year at a time, and hangs from a single rear keyhole onto a wall hook or nail. The battery is not included in the box.
