ZenFlex Yoga Mat

Ten millimetres is roughly twice the thickness of a standard yoga mat, and the difference shows up in the poses that put a joint directly against the floor. Kneeling work, planks, seated twists and anything on the spine stop being a negotiation with a hard surface. The ZenFlex is built from NBR foam that compresses under a knee and springs back, so the cushioning is still there in the last pose of a session.

Grip comes from both sides: a textured top surface holds the foot or hand in place as you move through a transition, while the base stays put on a wooden or tiled floor. The footprint is a full 183 by 61 centimetres, which accommodates taller users and larger movements rather than forcing you to shuffle back onto the mat mid-flow. The foam is non-toxic and odour-free, comfortable to use daily.

It suits Pilates, stretching and bodyweight training as readily as yoga, and rolls up with the included strap for carrying. One honest trade-off: thicker mats give up a little stability in standing balance poses in exchange for that cushioning, so this is the right mat for comfort-focused practice rather than competition-style balance work on a firm surface.
